"People are often unreasonable, irrational and self centered; forgive them anyway. If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives; be kind anyway. If you are successful, you will win some unfaithful friends and some genuine enemies; succeed anyway. If you are honest and sincere, people may deceive you; be honest and sincere. What you spend years creating, others could destroy overnight; create anyway. If you find serenity and happiness, some may be jealous; be happy anyway. The good you do today, will often be forgotten; do good anyway. Give the best you have and it may never be enough; give your best anyway. In the final analysis, it is between you and God; it was never between you and them anyway." - Mother Theresa

The Langi Family Reunion 2012

Family.

We are very family oriented. We do just about everything as a family. Birthdays, grads, promos, holidays, you name it, WE DO IT AS A FAMILY! Which is one thing I absolutely love about my family. We literally are each others foundation.

My family isn't perfect. But what family is? My family is incredible. My family is where my heart is.

This past week was ON POINT! Ever day of last week was full of fun, excitement, jokes, laughs, sunshine, rainstorm but above all, full of FAMILY!

***Sunday we kicked off our week with cake and ice cream in celebration of Jays 7th Birthday!
***Monday we prepped for camp.

***Tuesday*** we set up camp. The brown tent is the Malooloos, the grey tent is grandma and grandpas, the green  one you can kinda see was mine, the pink one in the back over there was june and loisis, and on the left, you can't see in the pic but theres a dark green and yellow tent that is the tausingas.. nuff tents aye?
After we went swimming at the Kearns Rec! Fun center if you've ever been. We normally do Kearns Rec on the 24th of July anyway, so that was kind of a given of what we were gonna do. Then later that night we lit fireworks.

Heres Victor and Tamara AFTER swimming. This year Victor jumped off the diving board for the FIRST TIME and was total PRO! He was scared at first but after that first dive he was in that line at the diving board till we left! Great Job Teta!

Tamara on the other hand, was swimming drunk! She couldnt get enough of swimming. She LOVES SWIMMING. Lately she always says, "Mom! I need swimming!" lol She's been using the "i need" card a lot lately and im just about to revoke it! lol

Christina and Coco. I had tons more pic on my camera but can't upload them so Im stuck with just the ones I got on my phone. Coco though, swimming was great! Although he's an albino and we really have to keep a close eye on him with his condition, we couldn't keep him away from the water. When his dad would start walking towards the area we were sitting at, coco would get all fussy to go back to the water! Love CocoMotion!
Here they are sleeping in the tent! We put our tent up right by the fire pit, which was both good and bad, good for the warmth and bad for when it was windy and the wind would blow the smoke towards us. But they were great sleeping in the tent none the less!

That first picture of Henes feet I posted cause he can WHIP with those legs. Seriously, it hurts!

***Wednesday*** We went swimming at the West Valley Rec Center in favor of Coco since he's sensitive to the sun, we had to enjoy some water COCO STYLe. That night we had a movie night with popcorn, smores, just the camping regulars.

Thursday morning the kids got there zumba on!

***Thursday*** we go to Willard Bay to jet ski and boat! Loved Willard bay! Everyone had fun in the sun! This pic is of out "committee" one sleeping and the other taking an up close pic! Mack and Kuips are too funny!

***Friday*** we took a trip on the trax all the way to the end. OGDEN! The plan was to ride up to Temple Square and do Grandma Silivias temple work but apparently Sepa already did it. So we rode the trax up and back to good ol West Valley City. It was great cause the trains were very well air conditioned! =)

Coco looks a little smooshed

Henele and Sunshine

Tamara and Lucy Goose

Coco Motion

Aramat (backwards)
We totally failed to take snacks with us on the trax. We had plenty water but by the time we got back WE WERE STARVING so who did the committee call??
CRAZY BUFFET!!

Christina and Sunshine

My by far BEST Henele Bottle Feeder! =)

A TERRIBLE TWOS VERY.MUCH.NEEDED. break for the rest of us!
***Saturday***, camp comes down and we go to UTAH LAKE! And we will never go back! haha Grandpa says so. Only because the beaches were way to rocky for everyone and where you go jek skiing you cant see from the beach.  My dad was a little iffy on the waves where we jet ski'd so when we went jet skiing the boat had to tag along as a safety back up! But it was fun, the waves were to big for the kids to ride the jet skis so they stayed in the boat while us older ones got to ride and do our not so great tricks on the jet skis! =)
***Sunday***, we have our reunion closing / dinner / awards ceremony!
The fam
Grandma and her two favorite helpers getting the fire started

Our Firewood Committee!

And Private Entertainment!

Henry Benry

*****NOW ON TO THE AWARDS CEREMONY*****

THE BEST CAMPERS / NO COMPLAINTS AWARD
LUCY GOOSE AND HENRY BENRY

award: new bottles!
THE BEST "BEE KILLER" / JET SKI DRIVER AWARD

award: the coloring package

So while we were at Utah Lake Coco has this bucket and walks towards the truck that is parked by a wood fence. Now by this wood fence, there is a huge beehive! Coco takes his bucket and whacks the bees. We hear this HUGE scream and turn to find coco running from the bees. Nai grabs him and we see that he got stung 3 times! by the bees! =( More to the story soo..

to "bee" continued...

THE CHINESE FIRE ALARM AWARD

award: the coloring package

So we all know how Tamara has her "special" attitude. You know how the Chinese Fire Alarm works? It's wound up and then screams this really loud siren for the ENTIRE village to hear.. Well same with Tamara, she's wound up when she doesn't get her way (which unfortunately is the majority of the time) and her siren is heard from down the block.

THE BEST FIJIAN TAN AND ALL NIGHT GAMER AWARD

award: the coloring package

Jay just swam swam and swam. Didn't care if he put on sunblock or not. All he cared to do was hit the water and enjoy it. And boy does he do that well! So after Utah Lake there was a joke going around that Jay is really bringing out his Fijian side.

We projected movies every night for camp and Jay waited till everyone was sleeping and would play on his kinnect till 4 AM!!! =) He's a die hard gamer!
THE BEST HELPER AWARD

award: the coloring package and roller blades!

Sunshine is THE BEST LISTENER! If ever we tell the kids to do something you can count on her to be the ONLY ONE that listens to instructions! She really is such a big help and what tops it all off is that she NEVER COMPLAINS!
THE "I AM A FISH" BEST NEW DIVER AWARD

award: the coloring package, roller  blades and a COUGAR HAT!

Anytime that fam goes swimming, Teta is the first one in and the last one out! He could be swimming alone and still wouldnt wanna get out.
THE DANCE CENTRAL QUEEN AWARD

award: the coloring package

After we did fireworks we put on the game DANCE CENTRAL and we had everyone competing. I thought the funniest was Lee vs. Loisi but above all Christina was THE BEST! =)

THE BEST HANDY MAN / GO TO GUY AWARD

award: BYU hat and jersey

So poor willy is the one that has to hook the boats, jet skis, then has to unhook them at the lake or where ever we are and then has to drive them around for us to ride. He does a lot for our family fun and I totally credit him for a lot of our happiness this past week! He never complains and simply just does as he's told.

THE BIGGEST HEART AWARD

award: shirt and some lluuuuuvvv pops

THE DEDICATED TO THE FAMILY AWARD AND WAS PUT ON A FINAL WRITTEN WARNING AWARD

award: hat and BYU shirt

So the day we rode the trax, Mone was suppose to work. We hit the city of Layton before Mone was going to turn back and go to work. He decided to stick with the fam and just call in to work. When he called in they told him he would be put on a final written warning. So he took a hit for the fam! =)

THE BEST BANANA DRIVER AWARD

award: shirt and hat

The boat pulls our lovely banana. On the banana it was Loisi in the front, me in the middle and Kuips in the back. Loisi when we ride likes to jump up and down while we go at high speeds, so the end of the banana really gets whipped up and down. We lost kuuipo cause of it, Kuipo lost her shades. We rode a second time and we all got whpped off the banana. It was so funny, I remember going under the water and coming back up and as I did, those two came up at the same time and we just busted out laughing. What does kuipo say after that? "So, did you guys see my glasses?" hahaha

THE KEVIN HART / DAVID DOWNER AWARD

award: BYU hat and jersey

So June likes to clown on just about everyone. But this past week all his jokes were towards the "committee" saying they had nothing planned or the committee only planned "nap time".. things like that. and every time the committee would respond calling him a "hater".. hence the Kevin Hart award.
\

THE MEXICAN PASTRY WASTED AWARD

award: BYU hat and shirt

So we all agreed on sleeping in tents. Well one morning the committee caught Lee sleeping in her room with all these mexican pastries around next to her. So she was awarded for getting Mexican Patry Wasted.

THE BEST BREAKFAST COOK AWARD

award: beanie

Chester is one of our best cooks in the fam. He woke up extra early one morning and cooked us all breakfast! It was so good!

THE HELPING HAND AWARD

award: BYU hat and coat

Nai does a lot for our family but is usually in the shadows. We don't actually see him do it, but later we find out what he does. And for that we are truly grateful. One of the jet skis wouldnt start for us even after we had our mechanic Gene look at them. Nai was the one that figured that we had some of the adjustments wrong and corrected them and had our Jet Skis running like new!

THE BEST PACKER AND "BEE KILLER' AWARD

award: 'ie lavalava and a Jazz hat

to be continued.. CONTINUED

So. my mom over packs. nuff said. Now when Coco got in his little incident with the bees we all ran Cocos aid. Where did my mom go? She done grabbed the closest thing to her (slipper) and walked right up to the huge beehive and SLAPPED IT! haha We turned and saw what she did and saw  her walk away from the beehive that was now on the ground and ALL the bees flying towards her. Luckily none stung her but we just laughed at how it wasnt even a thought to my mom but an instinct to go kill the hive! She walked away from that have with a "dont mess with coco" attitude! Love my moms!

THE BEST BOAT DRIVER / JET SKI FIXER / FISHERMAN / POSITIVE ATTITUDE / SMILE / "EST" DAD AWARD

award: a brand new fishing net

His award says it all!! He really is amazing!

Huge thanks to these two for everything. It's always been what ever us kids want is what they work for and they truly do give us kids and grandkids more then enough.
Overall an amazing week. Full of fun, laughter, smiles, happiness. You name it.

'WE ARE A FAMILY AND WE WILL ALWAYS KEEP IT FAMILY!

My New Friend Named Pats

Yesterday was a total BUST!

Woke up and our morning was same old.. but decided to take the kids with me to do some grocery shopping.. havent done that in awhile so we were off...

with the help of Mone of course.. Me and 4 kids at the store ALONE is like asking a bee to sting me in the eye.. haha

But anyway... at the store we get our stuff and put the goods in the trunk.. as soon as we get in the car the alarm goes off...

It's happened before and wasn't anything huge to me.. so I use the remote on my key to turn it off..

Now, apparently if you make too many attempts on turning it off you trigger something called PATS... pats is short for Passive Anti-Theft System...

Although PATS is my security and ultimately is the safety for my car, we're not very good friends right now.

So now that PATS has been triggered.. I call FORD... I've always loved the Ford brand.. we have a couple Ford vehicles in my family and we've never had an issue with them.. and I guess technically still to this day we haven't..

Ford tells me, I have to get it towed to a dealership. Now, that by itself told me... MONEY MONEY MONEY!... So instead of calling the tow company, who do I call? JUNE! hahaha pluse, he wasn't working so it was convenient.

June comes to the store.. him and money try and "bypass" the security system and disable it.. NOPE.. didn't work.. June calls Ford, kinda gave them a hard time about having to tow it to the dealership and really just tried to get them to tell him how to disable it.. Ford says, they can't, the car has to be reset at a dealership..

I stood there in the hot sun for a good hour and a half watching all these other people drive off with their "older" cars.. and I wished mine was like theirs.. lol And don't get me wrong I'm truly grateful for the protection that comes installed in the car.

The tow home $$, The Diagnosis $$, The fix $$...

To Hot To Trot!!

It is sooo hot!! And we have central air... I just can't take it! I just wanna take a nap in the freezer! Even though I'm allergic to the cold... hives and cold would be a thousand times better then feeling sticky, sweaty and hot!! ugh!

But anyway.. aside from the "slap yo mama" heat.. things lately have been very, ROUTINE... Idk.. I guess things have just gone to the point where things need to be switched up... =)...

So..

What do we do? What's there to do with all the heat, a very "eye kept" budget, and two little ones that make you wanna cry? hahahaha

I know... duh.. It's so obvious!!

STAY HOME! =)

Well, it'll take some brainstorming but whatever it is we switch up, will have to be switched up AT HOME!

I got a couple pics from the Fourth of July... but since my camera wasn't very darkness friendly, I settled for what I could..

So there's Tamara, you can't really see her sparkler but it's there.. We had a hard time earlier that day debating on what we were gonna do that night.. Everyone else wanted to go out to firework shows, but didn't know if we were gonna get together as a family... Communication that day was a little on the NOT side.. hahaha... Les, Mone and Willy wanted to go hiking, aki and chess with there kids had their own plans and the tausingas were sort of neutral.. they kinda just went along with whatever.. I was pretty set on buying fireworks for Tamara and Hene, cutting up some watermelon, and buying a bunch of Mc Doubles for whoever wanted to stay home...

You can see what we ended up doing.. hahaha..

So after spending $107 on some "ok" fireworks.. The night was pretty fun.. I remember sitting there watching Willy and Mone light the firework show for everyone and asking myself if I got my moneys worth.. but then after seeing Tamara, Sunshine and Teta loving the fireworks and Hene's surprised reaction to the show, it was definitely well worth it!

If you look carefully at this pic, Sunshine is a ghost! Pretty cool stuff..

Were going backwards.. This pic was July 3. My mom called a "Monster Crew Campout" for the Fourth of July... There she is trying to fix the door to "my" tent... geeze.. it doesn't surprise me that it broke.. oh well.. And then that's Tamara bugging Grandma to open her chocolate milk.. haha She's such a big help huh?

And this is the best way Henele helps.. by staying calm in his stroller! Now the only downfall for this holiday was Henele broke out in HIVES!! (sniff sniff).. You can kinda see it starting up on his arms and a little on his cheek.. but it totally broke out later that day and Me and Les took him in to the hospital, they gave him some Benadryl and it came down over night.. But it sucks knowing that he has the same allergies as me, cause I know how it feels when you really break out.. He's still my strong little man non the less.

Tamara always takes good care of Henele. I love her so much for how well she shows her love for him!

If ever you two grow up and by any crazy chance happen to read this blog, I want you two to know how much I LOVE YOU!... Words literally can't express it. From morning till dawn, my mind and my heart are always motivated and steered by the two of you!
TAMARA AND HENELE, MOMMY LOVES YOU SO SO SO SO SO MUCH!!
I would put in a million plus more "so's" but that would just be annoying huh? lol

Just Sayin

Right this very second, Tamara is stabbing a baby spoon into a jar full of flowers. What do you think that means? lol its funny the things little kids do. Me and Mone had been chattin for a bit the other day and he asked, "I wonder what theyre trying to say, or tell us?" Referring to Hene and a little bit of Tamara. They scream, talk, blabber on all day long, but what is it that they want?.. lol all I know and believe is that kids will be kids and us as adults with all our frustrations, and especially overloaded to-dos need to sometimes CHILL and take a moment to simply LISTEN.

Every morning I go and take Willy to football practice and I love to roll my windows up and blast my music. Whatever songs I listen to sort of set my tone for the day and I let it give me the mood that I need to keep my head up and strong for my two little ones.

Well.. one morning after I dropped him off, I switched things up a little..

I rolled down my windows and turning the music OFF. And as I drove home, I LISTENED. Birds were chirping, cars were passing, sirens were sounding but above all, the wind was blowing.

It's cool when you make a small change that makes a change in your life and your perspective on it. That morning I filled my mind and heart with GRATITUDE. I promised myself I will be grateful for the little things that we as humans overlook so easily because of the way our world and society revolves.

Worldly things have take over. And we all know it. But how do we find our way back to the view of where things all began? I think this is why you sometimes hear people say, "I wish things were life before, like they were back in the day." And it's a comment like that that shows how much our world has evolved since "back in the day".. things arent so original anymore. Things now are just a step further or a newer or twisted version of what is already. Dance has gone from the hokie pokie to the cat daddy. I mean, I remember when they would bleep our cuss words on the radio, but now they've allowed some to fall through. Didn't they bleep those words out for the safety and innocence of the kids? Well whats the difference between kids ten years ago and kids now... absolutely nothing. So why the change? Children are more exposed to adult content that they begin living lives they shouldnt for years and years to come. So can we really blame them for decisions they've made? or can we be all accountable for pitching in to their decision making because of the things they are exposed to?

Tamara and Henele are exposed to kissing scenes on the Disney Channel. Immodest dressing through the singers and dancers they favorite. Attitudes and behaviors from children around them that pick it up from adults, both good and bad.

So when we hear on the news of young girls that are pregnant or teachers sleeping with their students or people committing suicide... is news like that really a surprise to us? It's not.

Aside from the things our kids are exposed to and the whole gammot, the question is and really makes or breaks the bigger difference is, "What do we as parents do?"

We have every bit of power to change this world. To really make things like they were "back in the day".. We say that we are limited to what we can do because we allow us to even have limits. If more of us believed we could do great things and work miracles like we see in the movies then our limits will be none.

To be inspired enough to do something. To do anything. Whatever is on our minds when you listen to something or see something. Inspiration that flows deep in our veins and runs throughout our entire bodies so fluidly that your mind captures images of the unimaginable. The indescribable. The magnificent. It's that moment when you see a beautiful picture. A photograph at angles the average eye couldn't see.

I as a parent will be inspired to capture that image of how I will make the change, for my kids to succeed.

Just sayin.

Certified Fathers Day

Happy Fathers Day to all those amazing Fathers out there!

So this is what me and the kids did for Fathers Day... We wanted to get him an ipod touch.. but since were so short on change, we had think of something within our budget. So, I got to thinking about my Dad and what he's been up to lately...

Well... lately he's really into making him his "diet" fruit smoothies.. Every morning he will blend him vegetables and fruits whether separate or combined along with some ice.. And I remember him always having a different drinking bottle while come to find out, they belong to someone else.. So I thought... lets get him one of his own..

So I went to Big 5, which is the closest sporting goods store to home and got him a FILA Bottle... My idea was totally meant to be, cause if there's one thing you know about my dad, it's that he's a FILA MAN! haha seriously! He loves the FILA Brand. And as I was walking out of the store with the bottle, I thought, "Hey!, Why don't I fill it up with what he loves!!"... So His favorite candy is the Almond Joy, he never has any lunch money so I threw in a 20 dollar bill and last but not least an updated picture of Tamara and Henele for his wallet! haha "We make the front of the wallet once again!!" My dad's wallet is the only wallet in our entire family that has baby pictures of ALL THE KIDS including the baby pictures of me and my brothers and sisters! How about that for the PROUD DAD/GRANDPA AWARD OF 2012!!

He really is an amazing dad! He treats my mom like a true queen! And I do mean QUEEN! Whatever my mom says goes.. and that's how it's always been between them. I totally envy my Dad for that. Not a lot of Dad's will truly dedicate their entire lives and selves to their wives the way he does for my Mom.. But.. What's great about all those years of dedication to my Mom slash BOSS... is that now that us kids are all grown and much older.. The seven of us totally spoil him like crazy! So all those years of him being totally selfless is now paying off.. =)

He literally is at the Lake fishing right now.. lol But he deserves it!

I LOVE YOU DAD!!

I am now a CERTIFIED Nurse Assistant!!

So that 3 weeks of extremely boring class time has now paid off! I got my Certificate in the mail sometime last month but failed to blog about it.. haha

As I updated my resume adding my newest certificate.. I overlooked it and thought to myself.. "Damn, I have some good timing!"... And what I mean by that, is my Unemployment dates are very short time periods and my reasoning behind my short time with Sunflower Farmers Market is undisputeable, thank you Maternity Leave and Single Status! After having Henele, I go right into school and then into Homewatch!! My resume just keeps getting better and better... I am currently on break, MOMMY break that is.. and then right into Fall semester at slcc with that FULL TIME STUDENT Status!! oh yeah baby!!

Sorry im blabbering on... we all have proud moments right?

Is that the T.V. on and Tamara is ready for church?.. haha

His shirts never make it past 12 pm... Life of a Hot Boy... and I do mean HOT! lol

Thoughts Fizzing In The Mind

So I've been thinking.. "Why don't I take over the World?" I mean if Oprah can do it.. why can't I.. Did you know Oprah was a teenage mom?.. But she lost her child at an early stage of life. And I'm not saying that because I'm a teenage mom and have high hopes that one day I can rule the world... Or am I? pfft! WHATEVER! hehehe

No but really, I have been thinking a lot lately about my life. What do I want? Where am I going? What do I do? How do I get there? Where are my answers?... Have these questions ever crossed your mind?.. I think my problem is that I'm not embracing the present.. I'm so caught up in finding my next step or my next move that I'm letting the present pass right in front of me without me even grasping it. I need to CARPE DIEM! Like.. for real. I'm always looking at my calendar to see what's coming up, so I can be prepared or looking at sticky notes on my phone in case I might forget something important. There are even times where I'm on the phone with a Financial Service and I'm scheduling payments ahead of time and in my mind I'm thinking why can't I just fast forward to that day so that the payment goes through and I don't have to follow up on it.

I'm so pathetic right?

So.. For now.. I will be taking a very large chill pill and I'll relax. Tamara and Hene aren't gonna be so little anymore and I can just see myself 10 years from now asking myself, "Why did I worry so much?" haha... Here I am living my present and my future..

Now, onto another note.. Love..

Love is so mysterious! It's one of those words you can describe with thousands of other words. But still, it's something more then that. You all know what I'm talking about. I'd like to introduce to you all, T.R.P.
ha ha.. gotcha there with the abbreviation trick huh?

I wish to not disclose any other name that has not already been presented on the actual blog.

How about that for some fine print.. hahaha... (not so fine really)

Anyway.. T.R.P. is what I call "a best friend".. I know what youre thinking... if he's just a best friend why won't you tell us his name... blah blah.. =) We've talked for about two months, he's 23, Full Laos (I know I know, he's tall and skinny, I'm short and fat... opposites attract right?haha jk)... Just your standard text and call.. Nothing more, nothing less.. He assures to me quite a bit that my kids won't live their lives without a father "figure" in their life... now that's where I pumped MY brakes... What was he trying to say by that?.. I've told him time and time again.. I will not fail my kids and I do not want to bring men into their lives like Little Caesars Pizza.. maybe not actually putting in the little caesars part into that sentence.. i sorta just threw it in cause that stuff really does come in and out of their lives, like QUICK.. haha But I can tell where he is going with all this mess.. and the sad thing is, I'm not. At least I don't think I am..

Pretty pictures for this blog. I got them off pinterest the other day.. Thought they were so pretty and thought if I put them on my blog they could inspire me to blog all that's on my mind...
